Old Fashioned

The classic Old Fashioned is one of my favorites. I make mine with rye whiskey for its peppery bite, which plays beautifully against the sweetness of orange bitters. I also prefer a stronger drink, so I skip the simple syrup and opt for a sugar cube and a splash of water instead.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sugar cube

  • 2 dashes Angostura orange bitters

  • .5 Oz Reverse Osmosis (“RO”) Water

  • 2 oz rye whiskey

  • large ice cube

  • orange peel and Luxardo cherry (garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Add the sugar cube to a rocks glass.

  2. Coat with orange bitters and RO water.

  3. Muddle until the sugar is mostly dissolved.

  4. Add rye whiskey and stir gently to combine.

  5. Drop in a large ice cube.

  6. Garnish with an expressed orange peel and a Luxardo cherry.

Enjoy responsibly — it’s a bold, balanced take on a timeless classic.

Whiskey High Ball
A timeless refresher with a modern twist.
Dating back to the late 19th century, the Whiskey Highball has long been a go-to for those who prefer their pours crisp and uncomplicated. Originally made with Scotch and soda water, today’s variations often feature ginger ale for a sweeter, more playful profile — which is exactly how I enjoy mine.

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 oz whiskey

  • 2 oz ginger ale

  • Ice

  • Lemon wedge (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Add whiskey, ginger ale, and ice to a shaker.

  2. Gently shake to combine.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Garnish with a lemon wedge, if desired.

Whether you’re sipping seaside or winding down after a long day, this highball hits the mark — light, balanced, and just the right amount of bite.

Boulevardier
A shoreline twist on a classic — stirred, strong, and sunset-ready.
This cocktail first made waves in 1920s Paris, but we’ve brought it home to the coast. Swapping gin for bourbon gives it depth, warmth, and just the right amount of bite. It’s the kind of pour that pairs perfectly with sea breezes and fire pit reflections.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz bourbon or rye

  • 1 oz sweet vermouth

  • 1 oz Campari

  • Ice

  • Orange peel (optional garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Add bourbon, sweet vermouth, and Campari to a mixing glass with ice.

  2. Stir until well chilled.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Garnish with an expressed orange peel, if desired.

This one’s for the evenings that linger — bold, bitter, and beautifully balanced. Whether you're chasing sunsets or curating your next pour, the Boulevardier brings the heat with coastal cool.
