Overview

Lucky Seven Spirits is not a traditional distillery, but rather a highly selective bourbon sourcing and blending company, curating premium Kentucky Straight Bourbons rather than distilling them onsite. Founded by longtime friends Michael Lahalih and John Pals, the brand draws inspiration from their shared love of bourbon and classic cinema—its name paying tribute to Hollywood’s legendary Stage 7, where many award‑winning films were created. Known for describing themselves as “Curators of Fine Spirits,” Lucky Seven hand‑selects exceptional barrels for their limited releases and leans into cinematic storytelling with packaging styled like movie tickets and QR‑code‑revealed short films.

Led by Master Blender Ashley Barnes, the team continues to deliver thoughtful and expressive blends. The Holiday Toast (Batch 12), finished in toasted oak barrels, comes in at a bold 115 proof with an undisclosed mash bill, offering a robust and flavorful sipping experience.

Appearance

In the glass, the whiskey shows a medium amber hue that catches the light beautifully. Swirled in a Glencairn, it forms slow, well‑defined legs that hint at its richness and weight.

Nose

The nose opens with prominent waves of vanilla and warm baking spice, giving it an immediately comforting character. A subtle hint of citrus—especially orange zest—brightens the profile and keeps it lively. Overall, the aroma mirrors freshly made baked goods, rich, warm, and inviting.

Palate

The palate opens with rich caramel and warm baking spices, creating a sweet‑spiced foundation right from the first sip. Subtle hints of orange zest add a bright, citrusy lift, while a gentle touch of oak develops as it moves toward the finish. The mouthfeel is notably oily and buttery, giving the whiskey a smooth, coating character that enhances its depth.

Finish

The finish opens with a prominent cinnamon warmth that builds gently and lingers. As it settles, hints of oak come forward, adding structure and balance. A very subtle touch of maple appears in the background, while a soft brown sugar sweetness carries through, extending the finish with a comforting glow.

Value & AvailabilityPriced at an approachable MSRP of $69.99, it delivers strong value for a barrel‑forward release. It’s also widely available, with shipping offered to 40 states, making it easy for enthusiasts to get their hands on a bottle.

Final Sip

Lucky Seven’s The Holiday Toast is a fully developed whiskey that delivers both depth and balance in every pour. Its long, lingering finish and approachable price make it a standout value for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. This bottle offers a memorable experience from first sip to last.
